The home team Indians sent pitcher Ryan White to the hill to start off the season.  Colin Marques led off the game for the Cardinals and managed a base hit to get things going.  After a nice 1-3 putout by the Indians the Cards worked some walks that plated two runs before the Indians got out of the jam.  In the bottom half of the inning the Cards sent second year player Colin Marques to the mound who quickly recorded the first out by calmly fielding a comebacker to the mound and throwing the runner out at first.  The Indians got things going with two outs, a base hit by Torin Narva followed by walks to Ryan White and Jackson Chamberlain and a HBP to Dillon Harrington scored a run for the Indians.  End of the 1ST:  Cardinals 2, Indians 1

The second inning was quiet for both teams.  Ryan White managed two quick K’s before giving up a couple of walks but stranded the runners at first and second with a third strikeout.  The Indians hit the ball in their half of the inning but nice plays by Colin Marques and Parker Kauffman followed by a strikeout kept the Indians of the bases.  End of the 2ND:  Cardinals 2, Indians 1

Patrick O’Toole led off the third inning with a walk, Ribhav Chand and Ben Miller worked walks as well before Parker Kauffman hit a solid single to right to score a run.  The Indians managed to get out of the inning without surrendering any more runs. In the home half of the inning things were looking good for the Cards after recording two quick outs; a nice 6-3 putout by shortstop Luke Macrae and a strikeout for new pitcher Owen Parry-Cruwys.  Again, with two outs the Indians got things going.  A walk to Charlie Kent, a HBP to Ben Chamberlain and a walk to Torin Narva set things up for Ryan White who hit a base clearing double to deep centerfield.  Easily the best hit of the game.  End of the 3RD:  Indians 4, Cardinals 3.

The Cards came right back in the fourth inning.  The first five batters of the inning, Ryan Mealey/Colin Marques/Owen Parry-Cruwys/Ben Lane/Patrick O’Toole all reached base and the Cards managed to score three more runs.  The Indians went quietly in their half of the inning as Owen Parry-Cruwys managed to strike out the side.  End of the 4TH:  Cardinals 6, Indians 4

Due to game time limits the fifth inning was to be the last of the game.  Torin Narva made quick work of the Cards in their half of the inning.  The Cards sent Patrick O’Toole to the mound to try and hold the lead.  After hitting Cole Hunt to lead off the inning, Patrick O’Toole was able to bear down and strike out the next three batters. End of game:  Cardinals 6, Indians 4

Good luck to both teams on the rest of the season and into the playoffs.
