The Diamondbacks started the season with a win after a great game with the Dodgers, during which both teams exhibited solid pitching, strong defense, and good hitting.  Starting pitchers Jack VanBeekom and Brendan Biando provided their teams with great starts.  VanBeekom threw four and 1/3 innings of very efficient, one-run pitching before being relieved by Robyn Oxley-Luyster and Dan Reilly.  Biando pitched three solid innings, followed by an equally solid three from Justyn Zuno.

The Diamondbacks’ bats started hot and continued throughout the game, with the entire team contributing to runs.  The team got solid outings from Jack VanBeekom (3 for 3, 1 RBI, and 2 runs scored), Anthony Biscotti (3 for 4, including a double, with 3 RBI and 1 run scored, 4 innings catching), Michael O’Toole (2 for 4, 1 RBI, and 2 runs scored), Noah Basgaard (1 for 3, with 1 RBI), John O’Leary (2 for 3, with 2 RBI), Matt Montoya (1 for 2, with 2 runs scored, 2 innings catching), Steven Surabian (1 RBI), Robyn Oxley-Luyster (1 RBI), Dan Reilly (1 walk, 1 scored run), Dominic Biscotti (1 walk, 1 run scored), and Noah Johnston (1 walk, 1 run scored).

The Dodgers’ bats received solid outings from Brendan Biando (2 for 3, with 1 RBI, and 1 run scored, 3 innings catching), Jason Cayton (1 for 3, with 1 RBI, and 1 run scored), Adam Collins (2 for 2, including a double, with 1 run scored, 3 innings catching), Brady Chenevert (1 for 3), Jack Newell (1 run scored), and a walk produced by Anthony Merolle. Both teams played a great game.

Good luck to both teams with the rest of their season.
