The Diamondbacks secured their second win of the season after a great game with the Reds, during which both teams exhibited solid pitching, strong defense, and good hitting. The Diamondbacks started Dan Reilly, who pitched three solid innings, before being relieved by Anthony Biscotti.  Biscotti came in for the fourth and fifth innings, shutting down the Reds bats with six strikeouts and no runs over his two innings.  The Reds pitched Devin Endaz, Luke Reardon, Mike DeAngelis, and Matt Larkin.  Each of the Reds pitchers worked hard during their outing.

The Diamondbacks’ bats were strong again, with the entire team contributing.  The team got solid outings from Michael O’Toole (2 for 2, 2 RBI, 2BB, and 2 runs scored), Steven Surabian (3 for 3, with 2 RBI and 1 run scored), Noah Basgaard (1 for 2, 3 RBI, and 3 runs scored), Dan Reilly (2 for 3, with 1 run scored), Noah Johnston (1 for 2, with 1 run scored and his first Majors hit on a towering double to left), Matt Montoya (1 for 3, 3 RBI, with 1 run scored, and 5 strong innings catching), Anthony Biscotti (3 runs scored on 2 BB), Jack VanBeekom (1 run scored), Dominic Biscotti (3 BB), and John O’Leary (1 run scored).

The Reds’ bats started strong in the first inning with a Matt Larkin single (1 run scored), followed by a towering home run into the left field lights by Devin Endaz (2 RBI, 2 runs scored).  Other strong outings were provided by Luke Reardon (1 for 2, with a triple, and 1 run scored), Mike DeAngelis (1 for 3, with a triple, and 1 run scored), Chase Collins (1 RBI).  Alex Kotsopoulos, Adam Boulay, Duncan Hastings, Niko Manolakos, and Mark Ishkanian (who was called up last night to play in his first Majors game) all played hard.

Both teams played a great game.  Good luck to both teams with the rest of their season.
