On a soggy afternoon, the Angels battled back and forth with the A’s. There was solid hitting, pitching, and defense from both teams.

The A’s sent Riley Ford to the mound to start the game. He struck out two, and made a nice play to close the top of the 1st inning. The Angels sent Sampath Katnalu to the mound for the bottom of the 1st. Sam struck out two and walked two before Alex Shaw smacked a single to bring in the opening run of the game. Sam closed the inning with a third strikeout.

The Angels battled back in the top of the 2nd inning with a double from Gillian Woodcome, a triple from James Hess (to score two runs), and a gutsy single from Shane Abromowitz (to score a run). The A’s rallied in the bottom of the 2nd scoring three runs of their own with a single from Theo Hendricks and a double from Riley Ford. The score was Angles 3 – A’s 4 after two innings.  

The Angels scored five runs in the top of the 3rd on a single from Sam, a double from Benjamin Quintero Johnson, and a single from Jimmy. Alex Shaw and Brendan Sheard hit back-to back-singles in the bottom of the 3rd for the A’s, but no runs scored on solid pitching from Oliver Ryerson. The Angels and A’s both added two runs in the 4th inning. The inning was highlighted for the Angels by singles from Sam and Ben, and a solid double from Sunil Santry. Theo Hendricks and Riley Ford had hits for the A's.  

The Angels scored one run in the 5th inning off of three consecutive singles from Siddharth Srinivasan, Sam, and Sunil. The Angels rallied to make the game close, scoring three runs in the bottom of the 5th, with singles from Matthew Arsenault and Alex Shaw. The final score was Angels 11 – A’s 9.   Great work by both teams!
