On a crisp Thursday night on Dean 1, the Red Sox hosted the Angels in a much anticipated American league matchup.  And the game lived up to all the anticipation.  It was a good old fashioned pitchers duel with both team's pitchers on top of their games.  The Red Sox sent Evan Romano to the hill to start things off.  The Angels made him work, but Evan was able to hold the Angels scoreless over the first 2 innings.  Sunil Santry got the ball for the Angels and was firing the ball tonight.  Sunil worked out of a bases loaded jam in the bottom of the second to keep the Red Sox off the board.  Nice pitching Sunil.  Score after 2 innings, 0-0.  In the top of the third the Angels were able to push across 2 runs.  Alex D'Antilio doubled to put runners on 2nd and third.  Then Brendan Lyonnais smoked a double to deep center field to plate both runs.  Great hit Brendan.  The Red Sox were up to the challenge in the bottom of the 3rd and fought back for 2 runs of their own.  Hits by Owen Michalowski and Jake Brodeur were key to getting the Red Sox on the board with a pair of runs.  Score after 3 innings, 2-2.  Evan was able to wiggle out of a bases loaded jam in the top of the 4th to keep the score tied at 2-2.  Sam Katnalu was on the mound for the Angels and he was able to work around a single by Connor Alarie in the 4th to set the Red Sox down without scoring.  After 4 the score remained 2-2.  What a game!  Harry Miles was in to relieve Evan in the 5th.  The Angels put together some tough at bats and worked Harry for a couple walks to threaten to take the lead, but Harry was able to work out of trouble and hold the Angels scoreless in the top of the 5th.  Ayden "Wheels" Belanger led off the top of the 5th and hit a missle out to the left-center field gap.  Wheels naturally legged that hit into a double.  Wheels scored the go ahead run on a hit by Owen Michalowski.   After a HBP for Evan Romano, the Sox were looking for more runs and clean up hitter Philip DuBois hit a shot to short that Jason Malo made a very nice play on to get an out at second and settle things down.  The Angels ended things with only 1 run scored.  Red Sox ahead 3-2 at the end of 5.  Harry Miles was back out on the mound to try to slam the door on the Angels in the top of the 6th and he was up to the challenge with a 1-2-3 inning to preserve the 3-2 victory for the Red Sox.  Great game and good luck to both teams the rest of the season.
