                                                      Diamondbacks beat Padres 6-2
This game had all the anticipation leading up to it as two of the leaders in the National League West Division faced off.  The unbeaten 3-0 Padres travelled to the desert to clash with the 3-1 Diamondbacks.

Brendan Parisi took the mound for the Diamondbacks and pitched a phenomenal game.  The southpaw pitched 3 1/3 innings and recorded 9 strikeouts and surrendered 1 hit.  Mason Loughlin came in for relief and pitched very well.  Loughlin had 3 strikeouts, no runs allowed, and 1 hit.  Joey Silva finished the 5th inning off for the Dbacks with 2 strikeouts of no hit relief.  Defensively, the DBacks picked up a heads up play by 2nd baseman Ben "the vacuum" Martin who took a ground ball and without hesitation ran and stepped on 2nd base for the out.  This was a key play in the top of the 3rd inning with a runner on base.

Adam Trani and Cameron Kelly gave it their all yesterday on the mound for the Padres.  Collectively they had 7 strikeouts through 4 innings.  The play of the year came in the bottom of the 1st inning.  Eddie Aloupis came to bat with bases loaded and no outs and the Dbacks were up 3-0.  Aloupis hit a pop up to 3rd baseman Brody Sheard who caught the pop up and immediately stepped on 3rd and tagged out the runner heading to third from 2nd and notched a rare unassisted triple play!  There is a 1 in 12,492 chance that one will witness an unassisted triple play.  There is a higher likelihood one would witness a perfect game.  Congratulations to Brody Sheard!

The Padres offense was led by Cameron Kelly who went 1-2 with an RBI, BB, and SB.  Sota Matsuda went 1-3 with a single and an RBI.  John Costa reached base safely with two walks and Zavonte Walker had two walks as well.

The Dbacks had many contributions.  Brendan Parisi again put up big numbers at the plate as he just missed the cycle.  He went 3-3 with a 3 run HR in the 1st inning, a single, and a double.  Parisi had 5 RBI and a stolen base as he was a one man wrecking crew.  Mason Loughlin went 2-2 with two singles, 2 runs scored, and a BB.  Danny Molina went 1-3 with a single, an RBI, and a run scored.  Eddie Aloupis went 1-2 with a single and a SB.  Angad Pannu had 3 BB and a SB.  Jon Blattner went 1-3 with a single.  Colson Cotter walked twice and scored a run.

These two teams are destined to meet up once again in the playoffs!
