The Red Sox hosted the Reds in the early Monday night game on Dean1.   The Sox sent Luke Martin to the hill to start the game and he retired the side in order. The Reds put up three runs in the top of the second as Chase Collins doubled and Luke Reardon and Duncan Hastings each had singles. The Red Sox answered with two in the bottom half of the inning on runs by Tristan Davidson(single) and Sean Desruisseaux.  Score after two  Reds 3 Red Sox 2. Ryan Walker took over on the mound  to start the 3rd and Matt Larkin got on base with a single past the mound. Two batters later Devin Endaz blasted a home run over the fence in left center field. The Sox scored a run in the bottom of the inning  to make it 5-3 Reds after three. Ryan retired the Reds on three strikeouts to keep them off the board in the fourth. The Sox were able to push four runs across the plate in their half of the inning on hits by Derek Tevekelian and Luke and  some patience at the plate. Score 7-5  Sox end of four. Derek took the mound for the Sox and Duncan Hastings greeted him with a shot to left center for a double. Duncan scored a few batters later to cut into the lead. The Sox scored two more in the bottom of the fifth as Ryan and Jacob Brawn scored after getting on base. Score after five 9-6  Red Sox. The Red Sox turned to Tristan Davidson to close things out and the Reds got a double by Devin who would later score before Tristan was able to get the next three batters out. One of the outs was a close play at second on a nice throw by Jake Pettepit to get the runner stealing. Great sportsmanship and effort were on display by two good teams. Best of luck for the rest of the season to both teams.
