The Angels and A’s faced off for the second time this season, and the game was a real barn burner. If you like offense, then this was the game for you. A total of 25 runs scored on 27 hits in the game!

The Angels started things off with fire baller Oliver Ryerson on the mound. The A’s smacked the first pitch of the game, and Oliver made a diving catch for a tough out. Riley Ford singled, and Matthew Arsenault drove him home two batters later. Michael Halloran hammered a double to plate Matthew before Oliver closed the top half of the inning with a strikeout. The Angels bats were hot in the bottom of the first, earning five runs off of singles from Jimmy Hess, Sid Srinivasan, Oliver, and Sunil Santry. The score was A’s 2, Halos 5 after one inning of action.

Neither team scored in the second inning, with solid pitching from Oliver for the Angels and Brendan Sheard  for  the A’s.

The A’s bats were white hot in the third inning, with the team batting around their entire 12 player rotation and scoring 8 runs on 6 hits. The inning was highlighted by a ground-rule double from Michael Halloran, a triple from Drew Reeves, and a double from Agilan Kumar. Alex Shaw, Riley Ford, and Brenan Sheard also singled. Jimmy Hess closed the top half of the inning on the mound for the Angels, recording two strikeouts. Brendan took the mound for A’s in the bottom half of the inning, and he kept the Halo’s bats quite with solid pitching backed by great team defense. It was a great inning for the A’s! The score was A’s 10, Angels 5 after three innings.

The A’s plated two more runs in the top of the 4th off of singles from Michael Halloran and Brendan Sheard. Jimmy struck out three for the Angels to close the top half of the inning. The Angles battled back, scoring 4 runs on a two run single from Gillian Woodcome, a solid double by Jimmy, and a single by Sid. The score was A’s 12, Angels 9 after four innings.

With time running out, the Angels sent Benjamin “the cannon” Quintero Johnson to the mound to face the A’s for the top of the 5th inning. Ben had an impressive outing, allowing one single and striking out the side. With rally caps on and loud cheers coming from the bench, the Angels stung together a walk and three singles (by Sunil, Ben, and Alex D’Antillio) to score three runs and tie the game. Brendan Lyonnais stepped to the plate for the Angels with two outs and base runners on first and third. Brendan battled and came up with a tough single to bring Sam Katnalu home to score the winning run. Final score was A’s 12, Angels 13.

A solid game for both teams, and great sportsmanship by all! Good luck to the A’s on the rest of the season!
