Red Sox 17    Indians 2
The top two American League teams at the halfway mark met on a balmy spring night at Coolidge Field.  The Indians winners of 5 in a row faced off against the 4-2 Red Sox.  This night belonged to the Red Sox.  The Sox featured a balanced offensive attack and great pitching to defeat a very good Indians team 17-2.
Sam Cunniffe led the Red Sox offense.  He hit a mammoth grand slam to left center field, singled, walked twice, scored 4 runs and had 5 RBI's.  Brandon Curtis also had 2 hits, and scored 4 runs.  In addition the Red Sox got key hits from Liam Dowd, Brendan Dowd, Cam Moore.
Brandon Curtis was the Red Sox starter and he pitched 3 excellent innings, striking out 8.  Sam Cunniffe closed the door for the Sox with 1-2-3 inning that featured 2 K's and a ground ball back to the mound.
On a warm night, the Indians hurlers Ryan White, Charlie Kent and Torin Narva competed hard all night.  Offensively Kent walked and scored both Indian runs.  Torin had a sharp double to left and Ryan White had the other Indian hit.
As these two strong teams jockey for playoff seeding, we suspect they will meet again!
