It was a long awaited warm night at the ballpark for inter league match up between the Red Sox and Mets. Andrew Stumm got the start for the Mets. The Red Sox came out swinging and put 3 straight hits together to put 2 runs across in the first. Evan Romano delivered 2 runs with a double to center, but he was cut down at third on a nice play by the Mets. In the bottom of the first Harry Miles was really firing and was able to hold the Mets scoreless. Harry helped himself out in the top of the 2nd by smoking a ground rule double to center to get things started. Following a couple walks, Jack Casillo pushed Harry home with an RBI walk. Justin Lee did a great job working out of trouble for the Mets with back to back Ks to end the 2nd. Harry was back dealing in the bottom of the 2nd and held the Mets scoreless. In the top of the 3rd the Red Sox broke through for 9 runs. Jake Brodeur and Will McLaren started things with back to back doubles. Preston Langlois came through with a huge 2-out single driving in 2 runs to keep the inning alive and Owen Michalowski added another with an RBI single. Evan Romano then drove one into the outfield scoring 2 and Evan managed to wheel all the way around the bases on an overthrow to score himself on his hit. Nice work Evan. The Mets came right back with a quick run in the bottom of the 3rd with an RBI single off the bat of Anthony Santiago to plate Krew Duprey who lead things off with a walk. Harry was able to work out of the jam allowing only the 1 run. Anthony Santiago took the mound for the Mets in the top of the 4th and held the Red Sox in check with some nice pitching and a nice catch himself to end the inning. Nice work Anthony. The Red Sox sent Kunal Chauhan to the mound for the bottom of the 4th and he really had his good stuff tonight and was able to work around a stinging single to left by Anthony Guarini to retire the Mets without allowing a run. Great job by all the kids tonight and good luck to the Mets and Red Sox teams the rest of the season.
