The Mariners and Diamondbacks played a great game today under beautiful weather conditions.

The Diamondbacks won 11-4. Their bats were on fire as they had 17 hits, great pitching, and played very good defense.

Brendan Parisi pitched another great game. He pitched the first 3 innings and had 9 strikeouts, no walks, and allowed 1 baserunner for the Dbacks. Angad Pannu pitched very well in relief. He went 2 2/3 innings and had 4 strikeouts. Eddie Aloupis relieved Pannu and struck out the final batter to end the game. Defensively, the Dbacks picked up a key double play in the bottom of the 5th as Ian Taylor hit a line drive to shortstop Mason Loughlin. Mason caught the liner and alertly doubled up the runner on 1st base as he threw a dart to Eddie Aloupis at first base to end the inning.

The Mariners sent Desmond Nichols and Ryan Moss to the mound. They showed a lot of perseverance all afternoon against the Dbacks.  Together they struck out 7 Diamondbacks.

Offensively, the Dbacks put in a total team effort. Colson Cotter ate his Wheaties this morning. He went 3-5 (just missed a cycle!) with a HR, double, single, RBI, and scored twice. Brendan Parisi helped his own cause at the plate and went 3-4 with 3 doubles, 2 RBI, and scored 2 runs. Eddie Aloupis went 3-3 with 2 doubles, a single, RBI, SB, and scored 4 times. Jakey Linton went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a RBI. Danny Molina went 2-4 with 2 singles, knocked in 3 runs, and scored a run. Angad Pannu went 2-4 with a single, double, RBI, and scored a run. Mason “the dealer” Loughlin went 1-4 with a single and scored a run from the lead off position.

The Mariners picked up hits by the following players:  Desmond Nichols went 1-2 and scored a run. Ian Taylor went 1-3 with a RBI and scored a run. Josh Moody went 1-3 and scored a run. Tyler Jordan went 1-3 and scored once. Owen Guelcher went 1-2. EJ Tesiero-Miller went 1-2 with a single and a RBI.

Good luck to both teams the rest of the season.
