On a very nice afternoon for baseball the Angels visited the Phillies on Dean 3 for an inter-league matchup.   The Angels Ben Quintero-Johnson earned a walk in the first inning but Phillies starter Drew Vincequere was able to strike out two preventing any damage.  The Phillies were able to scratch one run across in the bottom of the first with the help of back to back singles by Finn Daley and Drew V.   In the top of the second the Angels evened the score with Gillian Woodcome crossing the plate.  In the bottom of the second the home team was able to score 6 runs with the help of a double by Luke Harrington and another base hit by Finn Daley.   In the top of the third the Angels plated two more runs with great base running and a big double by Sid Srinivasan.  In the bottom of the third the Phillies were able to score once with aggressive base running from Nate Terrasi.  In the top of the fourth the Angels came out swinging as Jimmy Hess and Shane Abramowitz led the attack with back to back singles helping the visitors earn three runs.   The new pitcher for the Phillies Luke Harrington was able to get out of a jam with a pair of strikeouts.   The Angels pitcher in the 4th Gillian Woodcome was able to work around a double by Finn Daley and with the help of some great plays at the plate avoid any runs scoring.  Luke Harrington worked a strong 5th inning, helping his own cause with a terrific grab on a very hard hit line drive by the Angels Sunil Santry.   The good defense continued in the top of the 6th when second baseman Aiden Austin grabbed a fly ball behind second base and then stepped on the bag before the Angels runner could return, recording the teams first double play of the year.   Both team played good defense and displayed great sportsmanship, the second half of the season should be fun!
