In a game that has been circled on the calendar by both Managers for almost a month now Dean Park saw the Giants host the Rangers on Sunday afternoon.  The Rangers drew a couple early walks in the top of the first and managed to push 4 runs across the plate.  The Giants had their own fun and sent 7 batters to the plate and pushed 2 runs across themselves with some timely hits by Ace Tyrell (double - RBI) and Mark Ishkanian (single - RBI).  End of 1  Giants 2 / Rangers 4.

Ace Tyrell vanquished any thoughts of hits by the Rangers in the 2nd and struck out the side in order.  Veer Bhasin for the Rangers fought through some tough ABs by the Giants batters but gave up 1 more run in the bottom half of the inning.  Giants 3 / Rangers 4 thru 2.

Ace struck out the first batter to start the third and looked to be in complete control but the quiet one, Joe Naras, worked a walk and back-to-back singles by Veer Bhasin and Luke Willingham had the Rangers thinking of a big inning.  The pressure was on the call-up of the day Owen Mongeon who didn't learn he was even playing in this game until an hour before stepped to the plate.  Owen shoots a laser into right field clearing the bases with a triple, not too shabby for the 3rd grader.  Ace shakes it off and retires the next 2 Rangers bats by way of the K.  The Giants were then threatening with back-to-back singles to start the bottom of the 3rd, again Ace and Mark.  But Naras quieted the bats and struck out the next 2 hitters.  Cole Camerer worked a walk to get the bases loaded with 2-outs.  But Joe bears down and strikes out the next batter to retire the side.  3 played Giants 3 / Rangers 7

The top of the 4th saw some more action with a 2-out rally by the Rangers.  A double by Joe Naras, scores Kyriacou and then a single by Bhasin scored Naras for 2 more, what turned out to be very necessary runs.  The bottom half of the inning had the no quit Giants send their first 6 batters across the plate with big hits by Matt Raffi, Drew O'Connell, and Ace Tryell (obviously).  Veer Bhatia now pitching for the Rangers settled down however and retires 3 of the next 4 batters by way of the K.  After 4 its Giants 9 / Rangers 9.

The top of the 5th the Rangers grabbed a lead off walk and a timely hit by Jussiah Falcon.  Veer Bhatia works a walk and they've got the bases loaded and no outs.  A tough come-backer to the mound causes some confusion but they get the out at first and Bill Donahue crosses the plate.  Another hard hit grounder snagged somehow by Mark Ishkanian saving at least one more run and gets the out at first but does send another Ranger across.  Veer Bhasin then hits yet another single, his third of the day, pushing one more across for the Rangers before the side is retired.  The Giants however will not quit.  Rangers brass sends Chris Kyriacou to the bump to try to get the save.  In his Prep debut, Chris pounds the strike zone and after 3 hard fought ABs retires the side for the save.

FINAL SCORE   Giants 9 / Rangers 12
