It was a cool May evening at Dean Park (field 1). The Orioles were visiting the Tigers in a divisional rematch. Dylan Fanale took the mound for the Tigers in the top of the first. He was able to retire Drew Peris for the first out of the game. Ryan Keddy singled and stole second to get things going for the visitors. Matt Schofield hit a rocket to the Tiger’s second baseman for the second out of the inning. TJ Welch hit a RBI single to score the first run of the game for the Orioles. Oliver Canavan singled to push TJ to third base. Dylan Fanale was able to get the last out of the inning as he retired the next batter to strand runners on second and third base.  Andrew Peris took the mound for the Orioles and got the tough Ryan Igallo to ground out back to him for the first out. The speedy Brian Kerekon singled. He scored on Carter Marques’s rocket double to right center field. Scott Hanam hit a shot to center field that was caught for the second out of the inning. Dylan Fanale singled in Carter Marques, as the Tigers took a 2-1 lead in the inning. Peris was able to keep the next batter off balance as he popped out to Matt Schofield at short stop for the last out of the first. After one inning of play, the Tigers led 2-1.

Fanale took the mound for his second inning of work. Josh Hamm was able to battle Fanale to earn a lead-off walk. Fanale was able to retire the next Oriole’s batter for the first out of the inning. Hamm was able to steal second base. Patrick Kane hit a RBI single, which scored Hamm to tie the game. Fanale settled in nicely and got the next two O’s batter to retire in order. Peris returned to the hill for his second inning of work. After Jax Roderick led off the inning with a single, Peris was able to retire the next three batters in order. After two innings, The Orioles and Tigers were tied at 2.

Dylan Fanale returned to the hill for his third inning of work. He was greeted by a lead-off double by Drew Peris. Fanale would get the next two batters to fly-out and line-out for two quick outs. TJ Welch would hit an infield single. He would steal second base and score on an over-throw to help to O’s take the lead. Oliver Canavan would then hit his first homerun over the centerfield fence. Congrats Oliver!! Joe McKenzie and Josh Hamm would hit back to back doubles. Max Diaz would single in Hamm for the fourth run of the inning. Fanale would get the next batter out on strikes. Peris took the mound in the bottom of the third. He was greeted by a Brian Kerekon single. He would be forced out at second base as Matt Schofield made a great grab in the hole on a hard hit ball off Carter Marques’s bat. Scott Hanam earned his way on base. Peris would get the next two out of three batters to retire and end the inning. After three innings of play, the Orioles led the Tigers 7-3.

Carter Marques entered the game in the forth in relief for the home team. He was able to get Landan Gray to ground out as the Tiger’s short stop, Scott Hanam, made a Major league play in the hole. Nice play Scott and first baseman! Asher Huang earned a walk. Peris singled. Keddy hit into a fielder’s choice, which forced Peris out at second base. Matt Schofield, TJ Welch, and Oliver Canavan would all single and help the O’s offense score three runs. Marques would buckle down and retire the next batter to get out of the inning. Josh Hamm entered the game in relief in the fourth inning. He was able to get the first batter to retire. Matt Arsenault would single and steal second base for the home team. Ryan Igallo and Brian Kerekon would single and score for the Tigers. Hamm was able to settle in and get the next two Tigers to retire in order. After four innings of play, the Orioles extend their lead 11-6.

Ryan Igallo took the hill for the Tigers. Josh Hamm got on base to lead off the inning. Max Diaz hit an RBI double scoring Hamm from second base. Patrick Kane earned a walk. Landan Gray hit another missile down the right field line for a double. Asher Huang knocked in Gray from second base on a single. Igallo was able to retire the next batter on a ground out back to the mound. Nice play Ryan! Hamm returned to the hill in the fifth inning. He got the first two batters out in order. Jax Roderick was hit by a pitch but was stranded on first as Hamm retired the next batter to get out of the inning. After five innings of play, the Oriole’s led the game 13-6.

Scott Hanam came into the game to close things out for the Tigers. He was met by some tough at bats by Ryan Keddy and Matt Schofield. TJ Welch singled to load the bases. Hanam got the next two batters out in order. Hamm came to the plate and hit a rocket to left centerfield for a bases-clearing double. Hanam settled down and got the next batter out to retire the O’s bats. Hamm returned for his third inning of work. He gave up a ground-rule double to Matt Arsenault to right centerfield. Nice hit Matt! He would score later on a passed ball. Hamm got the next two batters out in order. Carter Marques got on base but was stranded as Hamm retired the next batter for the last out of the game. The Orioles earned a 16-6 victory over the tough Tigers. Both teams made some nice plays in the field and got some nice hits at the dish. Good luck to both teams as we move closer to the playoffs!
