Sprinkles yet again graced the fields pre-game but the coaches worked hard to get it ready again. The Nationals fresh off a solid home stand were off to visit the Astros today. Max Caputo took the mound for the Nats and Bradyen Mahoney was on the mound for the Astros.

In the top 1st the Nationals would strike first.  James Flanagan got on base after a great put out at second base by the Astros. After he stole second Andrew Blanchette would drive him in with a hit up the middle. Just tremendous defense by the Astros in that inning with a snare a shortstop on a line drive and a huge catch in left field on a long fly ball!

In the bottom of the 1st the Astros came out swinging. Back to back hits from Colin Desriusseaux and Brayden and a walk to Cameron Coran loaded up the bases. Ivan Wisuri followed with a huge double to left that plated two runs.
Astros 2-1 after 1 inn.

In the top of the 2nd The Nationals loaded them up on a walk and two hits by Cameron Espino and Holden May. Brayden would get a couple k's himself and again great D by the Astros on a grounder for the force out at third to end the inning. In the bottom of the 2nd Max would settle in and record 3 k's.
Astros 2-1 after 2inn

In the top of the 3rd the Nationals bats went hot. Back to back hits from James and Max were followed by walks to Andrew and Christian Prizio. Then it was three more hits from Patrick Babola, Cameron and Holden to close out the 5 run rally.

In the bottom of the 3rd new Nats pitcher Christian Prizio set the side down in order on 2 k's and a put out at first base.
Nationals 6-2 after 3inn

In the top of the 4th a whole lot of patience led to a 5 run inning again for the Nationals.
In the bottom of the 4th the Astros would get a run back. Another great hit by Colin and he was driven in by Cameron Coran.
Nationals 11-3 after 4inn

In the top of the 5th new pitcher Suhas Bharthepude was on for the Astros. Although Patrick would rip a nice double to left and Cameron Espino got his third hit of the night, Suhas settled in nicely to strike out three of the next four batters to end the threat.

In the bottom of the 5th, as as time was running out, the Nats brought out Will Tonelli to try and close it out. He would get the first two batters on k's. Aaron Liu would then hit a blooper in between the mound and third base. Will made a great dive for it but the ball just squirted out of his glove on the landing, breathing some life into the Astros, and they took advantage. Parker Mulryan followed with a huge triple to left. Hits from Demetrios Athanasiou and Suhas followed to score 3 straight runs. Finally Will would get one last k to stop the rally and put another win in the books for the Nats.
Nationals win 11-6.

Great game again as always. Loved the players getting a lot of hits tonight! Good luck to both teams on the playoffs next week!
