The Phillies and Athletics played for the second straight game and were able to beat the rainy weather. The field was in pristine condition.

In the top of the first, Billy Porter hit a two out single to right field and then Keith Hallacy hit a single to centerfield, but Alex Shaw, the As starting pitcher was able to get a strikeout to end the inning. The As got the bases loaded when Michael Halloran hit a deep single to clear the bases. Then Thomas Crowley hit a double to add another run before Drew Reeves hit a triple to knock him home. In the second inning, the Phillies had three men on base, but Alex was able to strike out three in the inning to end the threat. In the bottom of the second, Jesse Zheng hit his first double of the season, then stole third and home. The Phillies once again loaded the with a walk and hits by Riley Ford and Matthew Arsenault. Then Halloran once again, cleared the bases. Daley struck out three more batters in the inning. As 9, Phillies 0.

Porter and Hallacy lead off the third with their second hits of the day. Both runners were able to score by moving along the base path. Eli Shaw struck out two for the As. Nate Terrasi made pretty quick work of the As, after hits by the Reeves brothers, Drew hit a single and stole three bases and brother Jack hit a double. As 10, Phillies 2.

In the fourth inning, Eli was able to strike out two more and get out of the inning quickly. Then, the As loaded the bases once more starting with a leadoff single by Alex and a hit by Arsenault. The Halloran cleared the bases for the third time. Final score As 13, Phillies 2
