The scene was set on a sunny Tuesday for a National League battle between the visiting Nationals and home team Dodgers.

Dodger's pitcher Brayden O'Sullivan took the mound and paced the home team to a strong first inning, striking out two to close the frame.  Josh Curtis hit a rocket to right field for a hit, but was left stranded at first base.  First time starter Logan Dipilato met the challenge by pacing the Nationals with a strong 1-2-3 inning in the bottom of the first.  The Nationals broke out in the second, with several batters drawing walks before Sean Mitsis had one of his two hits in the game.  Declan Carroll hit a shot to first, netting an RBI in the process.  The Nationals took a 5-0 lead.  The "Logan Express" pitched a solid, scoreless second to keep the lead.

The game continued at a blistering pace as the sun set.  The pitching combination of O'Sullivan and Christopher McLaughlin kept the Nationals at bay until  some insurance runs in the top of the 4th inning.  Curtis, Patrick Babola, Logan, George Coombs, Kevin Lee, and Benjamin Rotunno all drew walks or had hits that netted them RBIs.    In the bottom of the fourth, the Dodgers put up a resilient effort by loading the bases to start their come back , but Cameron Espino came in to close it out with a strikeout.  Well played and fast moving game played by two quality teams, with the Nats getting their first W of the season.
