The Indians hosted the Athletics on a warm Friday evening and the fans were treated to an evening of great baseball!  The Indians sent Chase Kinsky to the mound to work with Dylan Fuller catching and Chase struck out the first batter.  Shawn Salt then got things going for the A’s with a single.  Colby Coghlin got on by fielder’s choice and was followed by Colin Yeaton, who stroked a double into the left center field gap.  Colby and Colin would both score before the inning ended.  The A’s manager called on Michael Mendilian to take the hill with Colin Yeaton catching and Michael was firing strikes as he struck out the first two batters before finding himself in a bases loaded jam.  Michael kept the Indians off the scoreboard with his third strike out to end the inning.  A’s 2 – Indians 0.

Chase started the second inning with two more strike outs before a Will Kelleher walk and Shawn Salt’s second single.  Will and Shawn scored for the A’s, but Kunal Chauhan made a nice running catch in right field for the third out.  In the bottom half of the inning, Kunal, Keith Halacy and Max Domaleski showed patience at the plate to earn walks, with Logan Miller then connecting for a single and Dylan Fuller making good contact on a fielder’s choice to allow the Indians to score three.  Relief pitcher Michael Hagopian ended the inning with two strike outs.  A’s 4 – Indians 3.

Michael Hagopian then helped his cause by leading off the third with a single and Michael Mendilian followed with a walk.  Both would score while Chase struck out two more and Keith Halacy caught a fly ball in left for the third out.  Michael H as pitcher took care of the Indians in the third all by himself…fielding a come backer in between two strike outs – nice work Michael!  A’s 6 – Indians 3.

Indians relief pitcher Logan Miller was throwing strikes in the fourth and the A’s were swinging as Colby Coghlin roped a single to lead off.  Kunal Chauhan made his second catch of the game patrolling right field and Chase Kinsky followed with a great over-the-shoulder catch on a ball hit to deep center…and was able to fire in to second base for a double play!  In the bottom of the fourth, Michael Hagopian added another strike out and the A’s defense matched the Indians with their own double play!  A’s 6 – Indians 3.

Logan took care of the A’s in the fifth all by himself…striking out two and then fielding a grounder for the third out.  Drew Vincequere led off for the Indians and worked a walk before coming around to score on a Kunal Chauhan single.  A’s 6 – Indians 4.

Logan Miller still on the mound for the Indians in the sixth with the A’s working the counts to earn a couple of walks.  Drew Vincequere catching…and Drew jumps up to grab a soft roller down the first base line before it goes foul and fires to first for the out.  Logan then fielded another ground ball and threw home for an out to keep an A’s runner from scoring.  Ryan McTigue came on in relief for the final out of the inning.

Indians come to bat in the bottom of the 6th down 8 – 4.  Ryan McTigue smacked a liner down the first base line that looked like a sure double to all in the stadium except the first baseman, Andrew Schmit, as Andrew stretched full length for a great catch.  Dylan Fuller followed with a single, with Cooper Ackerman and Drew Vincequere also reaching to load the bases.  Chase Kinsky stroked a liner up the middle to score two runners for the Indians.  Kunal Chauhan strode to the plate with the tying run on second base – and connected for his second hit of the game, but never stopped running as he scored on a close play at the plate.  Final Score = A’s 8 – Indians 9
