An exciting back and forth, action packed, West Coast Rivalry Game, on Coolidge 1 last night between the visiting San Diego Padres and home team Los Angeles Dodgers.

Chris McLaughlin started on the mound for the Dodgers and worked a quick first inning, striking out two and making a nice play on a ball hit right at him.

In the bottom of the first the Dodgers would score Five Runs as they really worked the pitch count of Padres starter, James Flanagan, and Tyler Bolt would single for the Dodgers first hit of the game.

The top of the second would see the Padres come back fighting as Connor Bouffard and Brody Sheard each got on base with singles and were then brought home on a RBI single by Angelo McNamara and a long fly ball RBI single to the left center gap by "Sweet" Lou Rossetti.

In the bottom of the second, the Dodgers would score again, this time two runs would come in on an absolute frozen rope to right field by Tyler Bolt making the score 7-2 Dodgers.

The top of the Third would see the Padres continue to fight back scoring four runs on a combination of walks and another hit by Connor Bouffard.

“BlackJack” Costa would come in to pitch in the bottom of the third and after putting the first two Dodgers on base would go on to strike out the next three in a row!

The top of the fourth saw the Padres eventually take an 11-7 lead as it was their turn to really work the pitch count on the Dodgers.  The Padres may have even scored more runs as Dennis Moody pummeled a pitch to deep left field but Wes Axline made an amazing catch to record the out and stop the rally!

Due to time constraints the bottom of the Fourth would be the last inning.  After a leadoff walk, “BlackJack” Costa struck out the next batter and thanks to a great leaping catch by Zavonte Walker at first base had a quick two outs.  Then for the final out of the game “BlackJack” would record his fifth punch out of the night and the Padres would be come from behind winners 11-7.

Another great game by both teams.  Thanks to all the Coaches & Parents!
