A picture perfect Spring Friday night was tailor made for an offensive showcase in an interleague battle.  Tian Ma took the mound for the Mariners, ready to battle the Nationals.  The Nats came out ready in the first, with "Cool" Cam Espino and Joshua Curtis drawing walks before Patrick Babola drove them in with a hard hit triple.  Logan Dipilato followed that up with an RBI single before Benjamin "Benbino" Rotunno broke out with an RBI triple.  All told, the Nationals scored five before the sides change.

The Logan Express took the hill  in the bottom of the first.  But the Mariners were ready, with Tian drawing a walk, Jrake Baez getting a single, and walks by Max Depeter Martin, Marcus Ding, and a clutch hit by Derek Xiang.  Walks for Joshua Wright and JT Simone before Logan powers down and ends the inning with a strikeout.  As the smoke cleared at the end of the first, the Nationals lead 5-4.

More Nats offense in the second as the top of the order produces - Cam, Josh, Patrick, and Logan all with walks or hits.  The bottom of the order keeps pace as George "Herman" Coombs and Sean Mitsis walk and Kevin Lee produces a key RBI single.   Five more runs for the Nationals as they take a 10-4 lead.  Tian battles for the Mariners and is followed by Gino Leardi in relief.

The offenses continued to pour it on.   With the Nats up 15-4, the Ms mount a come back.  Highlighted by Derek Xiang's colossal bases clearing double in the third, the Ms narrow the gap.  But rookie sensation Joshua Curtis powers through and ends the inning.   The Nats produce more in the 4th, with the Benbino extending a single into a triple with some furious baserunning.  The Nats go up 18-7  which included a nice hit by Brendan Pimental before bringing in closer Patrick Babola.  He strikes out the side and ends the game.  The game ends - Nationals win 18-7!!!

Fun all-around game with lots of scoring.  Best of luck to both teams this season!
