The Tigers and Indians were finally able to play their game that was originally scheduled for opening night but had been postponed due to rain.  The game was played across town on the Northshore field and both teams were ready for this AL match.

The Indians started the game with rookie pitcher Drew Vincequere and he sent the Tigers down in order 1-2-3, highlighted by some solid fielding plays by center fielder Chase Kinsky.  The Tigers sent veteran Sam Bachini to the mound and he was quickly greeted with a single by Logan Miller, a walk by Dylan Fuller and another single by Cooper Ackerman. However, the Tigers were able to escape the inning with no damage.  End of 1st Inning:  Tigers 0, Indians 0

The Tigers came out in the second inning and exploded for 11 runs with solid hitting and base running.  Highlights in that inning were Sam Bachini’s 2 run triple and Luke Gallo’s 2-run homer.  The Tigers sent rookie Colin Marques to the mound in the bottom half of the inning and the Indian’s had some patient at-bats to score a run by Keith Halacy.  End of 2nd Inning:  Tigers 11, Indians 1

The Indians called to reliever Kunal Chauhan in the third inning and Tigers were looking for more runs.  Ace Tyrrell lead with a walk, followed by singles from Ryan Iagallo, Bachini and Gallo before the side was retired.  Dylan Fanale was on the hill for the Tigers and was able to get out of the inning unscathed on a nice 1-3-2 double play after a Drew Vincequere single.  End of 3rd Inning:  Tigers 13, Indians 1

The Tigers faced Cooper Ackerman in the fourth inning and he was firing strikes, putting the Tigers down in order.  One more bullpen call for the Tigers and they sent Jake Brodeur to the mound.  Singles by Ryan McTigue and Keith Halacy plated 1 run but that was the only damage of the inning.  Final Score:  Tigers 13, Indians 2

The Tigers prevailed in this game, with the difference being the 2nd inning explosion. Outside of that, the game was very close and there were some nice plays made in the field.  Good luck to both teams as we head into the stretch run of the season.
