The Mets and Cardinals hit the field on Dean 3 for a rematch of opening day.

Justin Lee and Jake Record took the mound for the Mets.  They went 5 2/3 innings and pitched a gem allowing 3 hits and striking out 14 batters.  Anthony Giampapa came in for relief and helped the Mets preserve the win.

The Cardinals sent Anthony Santiago to the hill for the first three innings and he showed a lot of resiliency for his team and kept them within striking distance.  Christian Prizio, Owen Michalowski, and Torin Narva showed a lot of tenacity for the Cards.  As a pitching staff they struck out 10 Mets batters.

Defensively both teams made some really nice plays.  Mets catcher Eddie Aloupis caught the Cards trying to steal second base in the first inning.  He threw a strike to 2nd baseman G man Giampapa who applied the tag for a key out with the heart of the Cards lineup coming up.

The Mets and Cardinals were battling all night and were swinging the bat with authority.

The Cardinals were led by:

Anthony Guarini 1-2 with a double and RBI
Owen Michalowski 1-2 with a single and run scored
Ben Miller 1-2 single
Anthony Santiago on base twice
Sampath Katnalu with a BB

The Mets were led by:

Justin Lee 1-1 with a single, 2 BB and run scored
G man Giampapa 1-3 with a single and RBI
Jake Record 1-3 with a single
Jadon Dumont on base twice
Tom Mendoza on base twice and scored a run

These two teams are destined to meet once again for a rematch in the playoffs!
