With the season coming to a close another perfect night for baseball down at Dean Park where the Reds visited the Rockies for their second meeting of the year. The first game was a battle so the Reds were looking to strike early.  The Reds took advantage of some seeing eye singles and a bases clearing booming double by Duncan Hastings, aka DH and took the early lead 3-0.  Mikey D took to the hill and kept things quiet by covering 1st on the first batter for the put out, then gets the 1-3, and ends the inning with pop-up back to himself.

The Reds stayed hot at the plate and after Mikey D hit a help yourself 2 RBI single with the bases loaded the Reds pushed 5 more runs across the plate in the 2nd.  Still on the bump Mikey D was throwing heat and struck out the side but not without Riley Ford punching a single but was left stranded.

Jaret Ellis took the mound for the Rockies and silenced the Reds bats for the next 2.1 innings. Mikey D stayed out there for the next 2 and had a very efficient night only throwing 50 pitches through 4 innings and ended with 5 Ks and gave up 2 runs.  His night ended with a shot back up the middle which he casually snagged like he was playing whiffle ball.

The Rockies started a come-back in the 6th but Owen Mongeon settled in on the hill and the game ended on a thwarted stolen base effort as Adam Boulay rifled a strike to 2nd base to get out the runner to end the game.

A great night by Mikey D on both sides as he went 4 IP, 5 Ks, 3 Hits, 2 RS from the mound and 2-3, with 2 RBIs, 1 BB and 3 RS at the plate.

Rockies Jimmy Hess had a great catch in CF and crushed a double in the 5th. Logan Jolicoeur was 2-3 at the plate with 2 RS.  Logan Mercer launched a deep triple in the 6th for 2 RBIs which looked to be the start of a rally for the Rockies, but the Reds played some great D behind Mongeon for the W.

A great night of baseball and best of luck to both teams in the playoffs.
